PAY ATTENTION TO ME!

Attention as defined by Webster's dictionary is:
noun

the act or faculty of attending, especially by directing the mind to an object.

2.

Psychology .

a concentration of the mind on a single object or thought, especially one preferentially selected from a complex, with a view to limiting or clarifying receptivity by narrowing the range of stimuli.

b.

a state of consciousness characterized by such concentration.

c.

a capacity to maintain selective or sustained concentration.

But what about those not using attention as a noun but as a verb -I mean wanting and craving attention- and by result creating dramatic situations that will result in getting the thing they so badly want? There's a surprisingly increasing number of those around second life and other virtual / social platforms. They range from the harmless ones making public statements to create from pity to anger and those who will go to the lengths -this happens very often in second life- to fake illnesses or mental issues to get themselves showered with attention -my ex is still badly ill and dying, this since I met him-.

I have made my one mission in life -specially in second life- to NEVER fuel, encourage, engage or participate in any sort of drama or drama-creating scenarios -there's enough of that in my life as it is to add someone else's on top of that, on a thing that is supposed to be fun-. Second life can imitate life to scary resemblance and even be more intense at times, so why is it that some people just love to cause grief in order to get some spotlight in such a destructive fashion?

My father used to say that some people just love being miserable, but that doesn't mean that you have to tag along and be sucked into their misery.

¿Pero que hay de aquellos que no usan la atención como un sustantivo, si no como un verbo -es decir querer y ansiar la atención- y por resultado creando situaciones que resultarán en recibir aquello que desean tanto? Hay un número sorprendente de estos tipos de personajes en las plataformas sociales, ya sea second life o cualquier otra. Varían desde crear afirmaciones públicas que causen desde la lástima hasta la ira colectiva y los hay incluso que iran hasta los límites -ocurre mucho en el second life- de fingir enfermedades ó enfermedades mentales para recibir todo tipo de atención de manera constante -my ex por ejemplo está malo y muriendose desde que lo conozco-.


He hecho my misión principal en la vida -especialmente en el second life- de NUNCA alimentar, animar, entablar ó participar en ningún tipo de drama ó situaciones que lo propicien -ya hay de eso suficiente en mi vida, para encima agregarle el de los demás, en una plataforma que parte de la base de ser diversión- Second life puede imitar a la vida a limites bastante realistas y ser incluso más intensa que esta lo es en realidad, así que ¿por qué hay personas que les encanta causar dolor para recibir un poco de atención de manera tan destructiva?

My padre decía que hay algunos que les encanta ser miserables, pero no por eso vas a ir y pegarteles detrás para que te arrastre a su miseria.
