SHOW ME THE DRAMA

What drives people in SL to start, fuel, cause or channel drama is a question that often haunts my mind and reasoning. Secondlife, being a virtual platform which some would consider a “game” (has much more layers than that, if you have been around it long enough to see it), so it should be by definition just good fun.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case with some people.One day things are perfectly fine, then before you know it, people you trusted at some level are out to cause a stir, then there are the ones that are permanently drama fuelled.

Then why, I ask myself over and over, some people just want drama in their lives? is it the anonymity secondlife brings and the advantage of starting from scratch if things get too hot to handle? possibly. Is it maybe in our human nature and this naturally transfers to our secondlife, because after all, there are people behind the pixels? could be. I have often wondered if it is maybe that the onlook of secondlife, like a rainbow, changes from people’s perspective, so depending on where you’re sitting, something that looks like drama to someone is just the most natural thing to another.

“Haters are confused admirers who can’t understand why everybody likes you” Paulo Coelho said once, so in my own personal case, I’ll log in daily to do what I love in SL trying to have good fun, deleting and muting… acccordingly
