TRUTH...

What’s best? Living in blissful ignorance or being temporarily hurt by the truth? because let’s face it, sometimes it’s best to be hurt for a while, as pain always fades away, that living a lie that seems idyllic. I have gone through what could be only be qualified as “the weekend of truths” and as abrasive as it may seem, I am the type of guy that will be proud of being truthful and expect the same from the people I interact with.
But what if a specific piece of truth from the past is no longer useful nor applicable to the present? Would you like to know anyhow even if it arose unneeded issues? I’d have to go with no on that particular case. There are things that are best not said -if you didn’t bring it up when it was applicable, what is the point of doing it now?-, but the fine line is that one must abide by the truth, not on a self righteous sense of living by it but it’s because what’s right.
What about or online alter-egos? how faithful to the truth are they? Some of us try to be as close to reality as possible when it comes to virtual platforms -second life included- but some things change -or we change- because it fits best the situation or crowd we log in to or simply because there are thing we can get away with that real life limits us on; so can this be considered lying?
I’ll end this with two quotes:
I rather be called an asshole for being blunt than a thief.
Spike Cleménceau-Silent
You can bend it and twist it… You can misuse and abuse it… But even God cannot change the Truth.
Michael Levy
