Gay money

With all of this debate about marriage equality in the US, something that has been in fact a reality in Europe for well over a decade in most places, one cannot help but ask, Why is that country taking so long? Isn't there -or at least should be- a clear separation from conservative/religious parties and the government?

Around 8 years ago, marriage equality was voted, passed and approved by a vast majority in Spain, and when the new -conservative party- took over, many feared of what would happen to something that was regarded as a social progress; and yes, the bill got appealed, got taken to the high court and after a while of deliberation, they came to the conclusion we all expected, marriage is a human right, a right that should be given to all citizens.

If the american government -as a whole and those against marriage equality- continues to negate a good number of their citizens one of their fundamental rights, regardless of their sexual orientation, then a new bill should be passed where gay citizens should be exempt from a certain percentage of taxes, as we are not regarded as equals, why then should we be considered equals when it's about our money?

Gay money seems to be as green and as valid as regular money, and what's best, no one can tell the difference between them, not even those who still claim homosexuality is wrong and perverse -which is the center of the whole example-; governments, companies, individuals, churches, they all accept the same currency, regardless of its origin.

If we are not regarded as equals and given our fundamental citizens rights, then it's time to ask to turn things around and make a clear distinction between the "types" of citizens a country has, if rights are taken away from us, so should our taxes.

Just my two cents

The Bad Seed

What is the source of human evil? Are we really capable of undiluted and pure evil? Are we born evil or do circumstances make people follow the dark self-serving side of their instincts? Are our evil deeds justified under the premise of self defense and preservation of our well being?

How about the SL griefers, how do we really classify and justify those? during my comings and goings over the past few years, I have had the misfortune of stumbling with a few and what's worse, accepting one into my comfort zone, that which I proudly call my family, which has taught me to be a lot more selective about strangers.

I do understand the concept under which SL is based, come be as you aren't, end up being who you really are and live the life you really want, but some people abuse the privilege this platform allows you to have and end up playing with people's feelings and good disposition.

Recently I was reminded of what I would definitively define as a bad seed in SL -and why not even go that far and say that it transfers all of the way to RL-, because when you fake your own death twice in less than a year, making a new avatar to simply retrace your steps and yet again "get sick and die", not only are you in need of serious therapy, but also have unresolved issues that clearly need attention, one you cannot get in a 3D platform.

But maybe is all about attention, yet again, I am not justifying this in the slightest but something tells me that when a person goes to the lengths of faking their own death just to see how people around them will react, is simply and plainly griefing, the type that revolves around causing terror and mayhem in order to test people's reactions under "safe" and "controlled circumstances, but sadly when people are concerned, there's no such thing as safe.

If you are one of those that craves and seeks attention, there are better and more constructive ways of doing so in SL: become a perfomer, a stripper, give speeches or teach something on an open forum, SL offers plenty of options out there to quench that thirst and these certainly don't involve death.

Want to die and live to tell the tale? become a vampire. I can even link you to many places where they have cheap and nice looking coffins, if that's where you are getting your kink out of: playing with people's feelings? that's just wrong, even if you were simply... born evil.
