Burning Bridges

Often used as an expression to refer to a job or a relationship in your life you have no desire to ever go back to, it seemed fitting to  be used as a reference to the many changes thousands of users are experiencing in impotence as the TPV policy has been updated by Linden Labs.

One of the first things that will poof before our very eyes in the next couple of days will be the client tags; personally, I won't miss those much as it had no relevance to me what viewer was each person on, but the color tags is indeed something I will miss and that the Lindens should seriously consider implementing ASAP -am I the only one that hates that default pink?-

There are though, a few updates on Third party viewers policy that I do agree upon being updated and that is the offline / online statuses -if you have set yourself to appear offline to people, I don't see why there should be a way for some users to see your real online status-, I am a bit obsessed with privacy, so this and the alt scanners -on the last TOS update- is something I welcome seeing depart from our virtual lives.

Then there's the Phoenix/Firestorm bridge, that wonderful wearable tool that allows your inventory and textures as well as many other essentials to load on your viewer which will must likely go too -this will reduce lag too!-, so myself as many users wonder how will this affect our overall user experience in the non so distant future? The move here seems strategic, Linden Labs while publicly expressing their concern regarding users' privacy is striving to make all of our viewer experience similar, so it won't matter if you are on the official V3 or any third party one that has managed to make a somewhat more decent job -no viewer is perfect, no matter what they tell you-

I guess we will wait and see how things are handled by all people involved in this Viewer tug-of-war, but do remember that the one with the muscle here, is Linden Labs itself.

Sexual Faux pas

All things in life, it being second life or real life have a certain protocol and acceptable social behavior when interacting with people under those situations, but is there an acceptable code and protocol when it comes to the intercourse? Is anything valid in order to achieve orgasm while having a good time?

Abandoning yourself is where most sexologists will agree with me, hence inducing a more pleasurable experience; good sex is basically based on getting intimate with another person and focusing but not really worrying about the task at hand, but there are some things that some might enjoy being added or happening during the act itself than others might not like so much.

I always either experiment -get a feel of the ground as we go, in figurative speech- and if it's a long term sexual partner, I do discuss later the things I have enjoyed -this usually during cuddling- and those that didn't quite do it for me. Here's a short list of the most abhorrent things that have happened to me or friends during sex.

1. Dirty talk that becomes rambling: When dirty talk is no longer kinky but a big long monologue that instead of exciting you produces the opposite effect. Learn to procure doses of this at appropriate times, all extremes are negative.

2. Silent sex: This is wrong, specially in second life where all you have is the avatar, voice and good emoting to get you in the right mood. Some people in real life tho do not enjoy the talk or comments of whats being done, but at least some moaning is always appreciated.

3. Dirty bits: If there is potential sex at hand, don't use the excuse that you were caught in the moment and forgot to clean properly, there is always, ALWAYS time for proper hygiene.

4. I came, I conquered, I'm done: There's nothing I particularly find more pleasurable than procuring my sexual partner pleasure by trying to discover -or doing things that have been done to me- what they like and making sure they have climaxed. There's nothing worse than doing it with a guy that is only worried about their own orgasm and once they do is game over -some log off in SL so all that's left is you and that poseball-, consider the other person and you will find your overall sexual experience better.

Sex, like all things in life only takes some involvement and common sense, but sometimes people shed that along with their clothes.
